Health Assessment & Promotion
The Health Assessment & Promotion concentration prepares students for entry-level positions in wellness, hospital and corporate-based health promotion and assessment programs.
In this program, students learn to develop and implement comprehensive health promotion activities by using health education and assessment methods.
Applied laboratory experiences enable students to master an array of health- related physical assessments for the purpose of identifying individuals who are at high risk for certain health conditions. The curriculum equips students to enroll in the Health/Fitness instructor certification program sponsored by the American College of Sports Medicine and other selected certifications. This broad based program provides a strong foundation for related graduate studies in Allied Health professions such as Medical School Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Physician Assistant, and Physical Therapy.
