Health Sciences

Summer 2005

The Department of Health Sciences has made several program changes. These changes are highlighted below.

  • The Occupational Therapy program has been approved to move to the graduate level. Starting in the summer of 2005, students admitted to this program will work towards a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Students completing the Athletic Training program will now earn a B.S. degree in Athletic Training.
  • Students completing the Health Services Administration program will now earn a B.S. degree in Health Services Administration.
  • The Health Studies concentration has become more streamlined, focusing on a foundation in the health sciences and selected cores in a variety of pre-professional programs.

Dr. Jeanne Wenos was hired into a faculty line. Dr. Wenos splits her time between General Education, Kinesiology (the Physical Education Teacher Education Program) and Health Sciences.

Dr. Kristi Lewis has joined the faculty. Her expertise is in the area of epidemiology.

Dr. Cindy Cadieux joined the Dietetics faculty.

Mr. Steve Knickrehm joined the faculty and will be teaching HTH 408: Accessing and Interpreting Health Research.

Ms. Stephanie Hudy has joined the Dietetics faculty.

Mr. Alden Kent has joined the Physician Assistant program.

Dr. Deb Sutton, along with several students, provided an international learning experience via a health education awareness trip to Trinidad and Tobago. This is the second year this experience has been offered.

Dr. Tammy Wagner was appointed Director of CISAT International.

Ms. Maggie Maloney will be moving to Cleveland this summer, and will be teaching in the OT program at Cleveland State University.
